Job Description


My client is currently in the early stages of an IT transformation journey to simplify, standardise and centralize the technology landscape. The objective is to create the foundation from which it can drive the digitization agenda of the newly formed cluster of areas built in within the business. The first step in the IT Strategy is to put in place a core IT team that can deliver standard IT services to support the organisations key objectives.

Purpose:
My client is in the process of accelerating their online experience. Our client has many country web site presences and a corporate site. The corporate site needs to be rebuilt to meet the needs of corporate and all functional locations so they can then effectively migrate the existing data from sites over to the new refined main corporate site.

My client is developing multiple digital products and need to ensure they have a consistent and customer focused experience across all their systems and platforms.

A vacancy exists for a UX Designer.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • The role will involve working across the Commercial IT team, with an initial focus on the design interaction and usability of the products
  • Work as part of a cross discipline, agile team
  • Balance customer needs with business goals and the brand vision
  • Understand and contribute to the overall brand
  • Run or contribute to workshops, design studios and regular knowledge sharing sessions
  • Produce high quality visual design output for their digital products
  • Work with the research team, user experience designers and actively get involved with usability studies, testing and competitive reviews
  • Write/create relevant documentation if necessary, which may include: style guides or specification documents
  • Continually optimize the design of our existing products, raising bugs and responding to issues raised in the development and testing processes.
  • Be on top of the industry standard and innovations in UX and design and help infuse them back into the organisation.




REPORTING AND SCOPE:

The reporting line will be to the Head of Commercial IT
Global scope - Maidenhead based; frequent travel is foreseen.


SKILLS/EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related experience/certifications.
  • Previous experience in digital, graphic design role,
  • Previous experience in a UX/Interaction design role,
  • Experience as a design lead, coordinating design work and consistency across a group of designers
  • Working knowledge of contemporary web standards, eg. HTML5/CSS3/SVG etc
  • Excellent organizational and presentational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant software
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Experience within a fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity
  • Highly articulate and credible at a senior level
  • Experience working on high traffic B2C or B2B websites
  • Experience working on CMS driven websites
  • An understanding of developing for digital and the constraints applicable to digital design
  • Experience working with multi-faceted project teams
  • Experience working in an agile development environment
  • Experience working on multi-lingual experiences
  • Intermediary skills of site analytics, monitoring and optimisation tools
  • Strong knowledge of web development technologies
  • Experience in optimising web channel performance
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Shipping knowledge an advantage
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial to find solutions to problems
  • Puts customers at the heart of all we do
  • Analytical and able to see trends and know instinctively when something is not right.
  • Stakeholder management and interpersonal skills at both a technical and non-technical level.
  • Able to work within the limitations of any technical constrains whilst still delivering user centred designs.
