Service Delivery Lead

This is an IT transformation journey to simplify, standardise and centralize the technology landscape. The objective is to create the foundation from which it can drive the digitization agenda of the newly formed cluster of Transport & Logistics brands. The first step in the IT Strategy is to put in place a core IT team that can deliver standard IT services.

A vacancy exists for a Service Delivery Lead

Responsible for the successful delivery of services to assigned Terminals from the company's Terminals IT project portfolio including understanding dependencies across the portfolio and working closely with Terminal IT teams and stakeholders to prepare for and deploy new service functionality whilst minimising risks to Terminal service operations.

  • Supporting the design and development of the infrastructure and applications in Terminals that will deliver the functional and non-functional business requirements from transition through to end state
  • Supporting the definition of project scope, requirements and timescales with key Terminal stakeholders
  • Supporting the development of work breakdown structures and the project and resourcing plans to deliver projects to time, quality and cost
  • Supporting the planning and management of the Terminals IT project portfolio including transition through project and quality gates and business approval of requirements and deliverables
  • Understanding all projects affecting the Terminals and their interactions to identify and proactively manage any dependencies and/or conflicts
  • Planning and overseeing the successful deployment of new and changed functionality into Terminals, including developing existing technology and end user capabilities
  • Ensuring that new services are tested, integrated and implemented within the existing Terminal operational infrastructure and applications to minimise service disruption
  • Working with the Service Operations team to manage the transition into production use
  • Managing the training of Terminal staff who will use and support the technology
  • Working with the project managers to gain technical and Terminal governance approval including change control for services to be implemented
  • Identifying and tracking the benefits to be realised by the Terminals
  • Proactively identifying and managing risks and issues and ensuring compliance with appropriate mitigation and resolution strategies
  • Scheduling environment bookings for test and deployment activity where necessary
  • Ensuring the scheduled suppliers and physical resources are available within the Terminals for the project portfolio
  • Leading the Terminal IT team through clear communication of the portfolio vision, direction and its priorities to ensure that team members are motivated, their skills and experience develop and knowledge and expertise is retained
  • Proactively managing stakeholder needs and concerns, including timely communications updates concerning the portfolio and on likely periods of disruption
  • Reviewing and identifying lessons learned to be shared with IT project Managers and other Terminal - Service Delivery Leads

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related experience/certifications.
  • Experience in Business & IT Transition & Transformation
  • Advanced knowledge of transitioning IT services e.g. from one supplier to another
  • Advanced knowledge of project management
  • Advanced knowledge of IT service management processes
  • ITIL manager certification - advantageous
  • Medium knowledge of people and organisational change
  • Advanced knowledge of Information Services functions
  • Medium knowledge of Shared Services - advantageous
  • Advanced knowledge of service delivery
  • Advanced knowledge of service transition
