*Project Manager - Contract - Personalisation Development - £350-£450 per day - Local Authority - 6-12 Months - Central London*
Personalisation Development Manager [Dec 16 - Dec 17]
Business Need for the Post:
Following an in-depth review the Department agreed a personalisation strategy and development plan in September 2016. Personalisation is one of four core priorities for the Department and the strategy and plan aim to develop the Department's personalisation offer over an 18 month period so that it becomes a leading organisation in this area. The strategy is focused on five key priorities;
- Making sure our staff and other professionals we work with better promote and support personalisation.
- Continuing to increase the number of people choosing a direct payment - and making it easier to do that.
- Improving information and advice about personalisation and how people can receive it.
- Managing the local market and providers we work with better so that they offer more choice and control, including new ways of organising services.
- Innovation and new ideas - working closely with our partners and customers.
The focus of the Role:
We now need a lead manager to take forward the delivery plan supported by a delivery working group that is already up and running and includes representatives from finance, commissioning and operations.
The role will take responsibility for driving and co-ordinating delivery of the strategy and plan for personalisation ensuring that progress is tracked, controlled and supported and the integrity of our ambition is sustained. This is not however a back office role. We are looking for a creative and dynamic leader that can represent and take forward our personalisation agenda to internal and external audiences and ensure that this work delivers the service and financial benefits that we expect to deliver.
The Person: While a number of areas of work are in train, this person will need to be flexible and used to operating in complex environments with competing pressures and demands. They will thrive on opportunity to support delivery of a major and complex change agenda and will be supported by the Personalisation Delivery Group to succeed. Experience of hands on delivery improving health and/or social care services is essential along with a clear understanding of the vital role that personalisation can play in delivering better outcomes and value for money. Most important will be experience of end to end complex project management with a track record of successfully managing relationships to delivering tangible service and financial benefits.
