IT Governance Manager - Digital Technology Supplier Governance. A large Investment Manager and Insuance services provider is looking for an IT Governance manager to look after its Digital Technology landscape. The firm is seeking an experienced senior IT professional to manage a rigorous governance model in a fast paced, agile digital technology and services environment.

The Head of Digital Technology & Supplier Governance will have extensive experience and knowledge gained from within the Finance industries of Technology Risk, Infrastructure, Operations, Networking, Application Management, Telephony Solutions, Supplier Relationship Management, Contractual and Commercial agreements, Service Management, IT budgets and IT resource and the SDLC.

Setting the vision and direction for infrastructure and operational service and design the Head of Digital Technology & Supplier Governance will look across the business needs to enable a best in class service to meet those needs.

The digital customer vision is to accelerate growth and drive value through a focus on customers, best in class digital technology solutions, advanced customer data insights and optimal unit costs. High quality, current, and always available IT systems, tools and capabilities are critical in enabling the firm's digital business to deliver a thrilling customer experience. Its expectation of IT is increasing, and traditional models of service provision to the lowest common denominator no longer meet the demands of a business with ambitions to grow its digital footprint, engage its customers online and drive valuable analytics from the data it manages.

Appropriate selection, management and auditing of IT supplier services, delivery and costs is critical to the role alongside ensuring the correct monitoring, reporting and DR provisioning is in place to ensure services and systems are available to meet business needs.
This role is suitable for agile working. This means we would consider a more flexible working arrangement, where your hours and work location are managed according to business, customer and personal needs.

For this role, you have the option to work from London, the south coast or Cardiff.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • In partnership with the company's IT Service Providers, meet or exceed customer Service Level Agreements (SLA) through monitoring, proactive planning, and rapid incident respons
  • Liaising with the Group IT Director and other divisional technology leads, help coordinate all aspects of technology operations (including Help Desk, data centre operations, network management, telephony, database management and security)
  • Manage and coordinate the day-to-day cloud services, infrastructure automation, networking, storage, and business continuity/disaster recovery
  • Lead the implementation and operation of security services such as vulnerability assessment, threat monitoring, penetration testing, and incident management
  • Where required, attend and present materials to the relevant control boards, Strategy Committee and divisional ExCo's.
  • Lead & Direct responses to RFP's from our Clients for IT Security & Audit sections.
  • IT Risk & Security
  • Ensure that the digital organisation operates against a sound IT risk framework, that the risks are clearly identified, mitigated and understood
  • Ensure all digital developments are delivered against rigorous SDLC, Agile & dev/ops frameworks and standards
  • Serve as a security expert in-line with Legal and General Group IT Policies and Standards and lead across various security disciplines including mobile, network, infrastructure, application, data, cloud, and virtualisation. Ensure the digital operation exceeds its obligations against the group's security strategy
  • Emerging Technologies
  • Provide leadership to extend the organisation's ability to optimize use of emerging technologies (including mobile apps)
  • Demonstrates flexibility and mobility to support changing customer needs and new ways of working (including but not limited to Agile development model, LEAN), along with actively supporting new IT tools to enable new working practices.
  • Employee Management
  • To take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group's policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance
