Change & Release Manager

This is an IT transformation journey to simplify, standardise and centralize the technology landscape. The objective is to create the foundation from which it can drive the digitization agenda of the newly formed cluster of Transport & Logistics brands. The first step in the IT Strategy is to put in place a core IT team that can deliver standard IT services.

A vacancy exists for a Change & Release Manager

The Change/Release Manager is responsible for ensuring that the impact of releases of planned new IT systems and changes to existing applications and infrastructure are managed in an effective way to minimise negative impacts including service disruption on terminal operations or IT Service Management.

The Change/Release Manager is accountable for the change governance process including the sequencing, scheduling and communication of the forward schedule of changes at an individual terminal, region and global level.

The Change/Release Manager owns the definition and continuous improvement of the Change and Release processes. The Change Manager will support project, incident and problem management teams in navigating the change and release process, guiding them through impact assessment and the required steps to ensure that releases and changes are implemented successfully or cleanly backed out before they become service affecting.

  • Accountable for the company's global IT Release and Change process
  • Manage and govern the IT Release and Change processes, including liaising with business and IT stakeholders to ensure thorough impact assessment of planned changes and releases and the sequencing of approval decisions required
  • Ensures understanding and adherence to the IT Release and Change management process for all IT changes by business stakeholders, IT organisation and suppliers
  • Coordinates and communicates the company's forward schedule of releases and changes, monitoring progress within the IT Release and Change process and intervening where required
  • Chairs the global Change Advisory Board (CAB) as part of the process, coordinating with regional CABs as required
  • Defines requirements and enhancements to the tools used to manage assessment and approval for IT Release and Change management (e.g. SNOW)
  • Conducts periodic audits of IT Releases and Changes post implementation to ensure that acceptance or back out criteria were met and that changes to configuration items were implemented as specified and as planned
  • Works with the configuration manager to use the CMDB effectively as a resource to understand the impact of proposed changes on configuration items and to assess the integrity of changes implemented
  • Maintain and manage alignment of the IT Change and Release Management processes with Service Introduction and Deployment

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related experience/certifications.
  • Experience in a global Change Management role
  • Advanced knowledge of Change
  • Advanced knowledge of service operations - essential
  • ITIL expert Change Management certified
  • ITIL expert Release Management certified
  • Advanced knowledge of service management
  • Advanced knowledge of service integration
  • Advanced knowledge of Information Services functions
  • Experience in Business & IT Transition & Transformation Service introduction
