  • Optimise, monitor, maintain and improve all infrastructure services, providing an efficient, reliable and secure infrastructure that follows industry best practice

  • Hands-on experience as a lead operations engineer in an infrastructure operations support function including very good understanding of ITSM processes and ways of working (e.g. incident, request, problem and change management)
  • Experience in all aspects of enterprise Windows platform management with versions up to and including Windows Server 2019.
  • Support and development of core infrastructure services, including:
  • Windows Server 2012/16/19
  • Virtualisation technologies (VMware)
  • SAN and file storage technologies
  • Active Directory
  • Backup and Recovery tools (e.g. eVault, Azure Backup, Recovery Manager for AD)
  • Configuration Management tools (e.g. SCCM, Group Policy)
  • Automation tools (e.g. Powershell, Git, Azure DevOps)
  • Cloud technologies (e.g. Azure AD, Azure Site Recovery)
  • Monitoring tools (e.g. SCOM, Nagios, Solarwinds)
  • Security tools (McAfee AV/ePO, Microsoft Defender)
  • 5+ years specialising in Windows server infrastructure operational support, including administration of on-premise and cloud IaaS/PaaS/SaaS platforms (particularly Microsoft Azure)
  • Experience of vulnerability management processes and software update deployment via SCCM
  • Experience of working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams with a focus on supporting highly available services
  • Experience building infrastructure maintenance plans and other processes required to ensure the smooth running of an infrastructure operations service
  • Awareness of automation, including automated build processes, environment setups, testing scripts, deployments and reporting
  • A Financial/Wealth Management Services background is advantageous but not essential

  • Excellent troubleshooting & diagnostic skills, including the ability to work well under pressure and follow investigations through to logical conclusions
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with other teams in order to understand technical requirements and provide guidance in relation to Windows and cloud-based infrastructure services
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and reliability of services provided
  • Ability to produce and maintain accurate documentation and a readiness to share knowledge
