Main Purpose:

The person will be joining the development team and reporting to the head of technical architecture. The role is primarily based around the implementation of several greenfield projects which will include web applications, web sites, and mobile. The role itself will be 80% development but may require some minor legacy BAU support work using VB.NET (5-10%). The technology stack is primarily MS and the clear majority of work will be done using c# and SQL server as the base platform.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop & test a range of applications targeted for the web and windows;
  • Design and implement SQL databases that drive the above applications;
  • Design and implement solutions that integrate with 3rd party services such as Google & the ESRI;
  • Drive implementation of new technologies;
  • Continued support of the above in a production environment;
  • Maintenance and support of a variety of applications both in-house developed and 3rd party.

Skills and Experience:

Required Skills:
  • All of the following C#, & Asp.Net;
  • Windows services and multithreading;
  • JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery or Extjs;
  • SQL development (database design and TSQL);
  • Web services and Web API's;
  • Commercial workflow applications;
  • Dealing directly with business users.

Preferred Skills:
  • E-commerce websites and CMS systems;
  • Domain name management & SEO;
  • MVC and entity framework;
  • Active Directory and DNS;
  • SSRS and SSIS;
  • Microsoft Office, especially Excel;
  • SharePoint development and administration;
  • Azure and .Net core;
  • TFS.

Personal Qualities:
