Working as part of the Enterprise Architecture team, the role will provide direction and recommendations on business information that needs to be shared consistently. This includes the identification, definition and analysis of how information assets can support business strategies and outcomes.
Information Architecture & Strategy
- The Enterprise Information Architect (EIA) will help drive the Information Strategy by providing strategic recommendations on the companies creation, access and use of data and information assets to drive better business value and outcomes.
- The EIA will participate in the analysis of existing information and data assets and is responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and will proactively seek to exploit data as well as enabling all forms of business outcomes through analytics, data and analytics governance and information policies.
- The EIA will assess the benefits and the risks of information by using tools such as business capability models to create an information-centric view to quickly visualize what information matters most to the organization.
- The EIA will assist and work with business partners and product managers to develop information governance processes and structures.
- The EIA will work with the Group Security Architect to help manage risk associated with data through the definition of data classifications ensuring information assets are identified, proactively managed and secured.
- The EA will drive efforts to improve business performance through information solutions, and capabilities, such as master data management (MDM), metadata management, analytics, content management, data integration and related information management and cloud infrastructure components.
Enterprise Architecture and Planning
- The EIA will work with the other Enterprise Architect roles and collaborate with the Solution Architects and Business Architects to establish a cohesive Information/Data Architecture that is aligned with and supports the delivery of the group business strategy.
- The EIA will actively participate in the definition of Lloyd's Register enterprise architecture principles, policies, standards and patterns. Ensuring the definition of technology solutions conforms to the standards and patterns mandated and agreed
- The EIA will support the departments Innovation efforts in order to improve IT services, drive adoption of digital technologies, enabling the firm to create new services and efficiencies.
- The EIA will support the teams governance activities by supporting and participating in the operation of the Architecture Review Group (ARG) and the Technical Design Authority (TDA).
Key Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Assess the risks and work in a safe manner at all times, robustly implementing health and safety rules, instructions and systems and refuse to undertake work that compromises your safety or health.
- Report in a timely manner all incidents including near miss and safety observations (NMSO), accidents and injuries and raise any health and safety concerns with your line manager.
Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:
Experience in a large IT organisation, with at least two years in information system design and architecture
- In-depth experience of designing and implementing information solutions.
- Hands-on experience with implementing data and analytics management programs is preferred.
- Previous experience as a data analyst is highly desirable
- Effective conceptualisation, pattern recognition and teaming skills.
- Business acumen, and the ability to communicate to executives, business stakeholders and technical staff alike.
- Demonstrated influence, communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Data modelling and information classification expertise at an enterprise level.
- Understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information models
- Understanding of metamodels, taxonomies and ontologies, as well as the challenges of applying structured techniques (data modelling) to less-structured sources.
- Familiarity with data science concepts, as well as Master Data Management (MDM), business intelligence, and data lakes / mart design and implementation techniques
- Ability to analyse project, program and portfolio needs, as well as determine the resources needed to achieve objectives and overcome cross-functional barriers.
